Rihanna Starring in Movie Based on the Game "Battleship"

Rihanna has snagged her first-ever film role. Variety reports she'll star in a live-action movie based on the popular board game Battleship. The report doesn't provide any details on her character in the film.

Battleship, which will be helmed by Friday Night Lights and Hancock director Peter Berg, will focus on some sort of battle between the Navy and a "superior force." The film, also starring True Blood actor Alexander Skarsgard and Friday Night Lights actor Taylor Kitsch, will hit theaters on May 25th, 2012.
